I have decided to write this article on William Branham for 2 reasons and that is this: William Branham’s influence on the church today is nothing but a vile attack on the True Body of Christ. This article will also serve as a reference to some articles that I will be writing soon on some supposed ‘men of God’ aka ‘Prophets’ in South Africa – who claim that they have William Branham’s Mantle. Any ‘pastor’ who says that William Branham was truly a man of God or says they have anything from William Branham (mantle, angel, follows his teachings, etc) should be avoided like the plague.
Who was William Branham:
William Branham was born in 6th April 1909 in Kentucky and died on 24 December 1965. His ministry was founded in May 1946. But this legacy lives on in his followers and the hundreds of sermons that were recorded or transcribed. Most people read his sermons more than they do they bible. Most people believe William Branham’s words more than the bible. This is obviously concerning, but what is more concerning is what William Branham preached and the strange signs and wonders that accompanied him.

APOSTATE OCCULT ONENESS PROPHETS:
THE EVIL OF WILLIAM BRANHAM & THE MANIFEST SONS OF GOD

Jeremiah 14:14: Then the LORD said to me, “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds.”
Ezekiel 12:24: “For there will no longer be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel.”
Ezekiel 13:6: “They see falsehood and lying divination who are saying, ‘The LORD declares,’ when the LORD has not sent them; yet they hope for the fulfillment of [their] word.
Ezekiel 13:7: “Did you not see a false vision and speak a lying divination when you said, ‘The LORD declares,’ but it is not I who have spoken?”‘”
Ezekiel 13:23: “therefore, your women will no longer see false visions or practice divination, and I will deliver My people out of your hand. Thus you will know that I am the LORD.”
SATANIC MANIFESTATION OF OCCULTIC LIGHT
GREETED BIRTH OF WILLIAM MARION BRANHAM
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ! And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. ” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)
William Branham, the “father” of the Manifest Sons of God” theology, and much of the Charismatic movement, which has inspired the Citi-Church, Universal DAWN movement and C. Peter Wagner’s Spiritual Mapping of today, was empowered by Satan. C. Peter Wagner, in his book, Engaging the Enemy, attributes much of his information on “Territorial Spirits” to practising Witchdoctors and former Satanists, rather than God’s Word.
William Branham was Baptist, until his wife died in childbirth, and he had “angelic” visitors who told him it was because he needed to be teaching and preaching “Oneness,” instead of the Trinity. He then joined a Oneness Pentecostal church and taught nothing else for the rest of his life.
He believed in what the early Church Fathers called the error of Modalism, also known as Monarchianism and Sabellianism: that Jesus is all there ever was of God – He says that God “always had skin on him,” but that Jesus sometimes functioned either as the Father or as the Holy Spirit, instead of Himself. Branham taught that God could only function as one at a time, much like an actor playing one role and then another.
Where did he ever get such an idea? Everything he believed was from “his” angel of light.
SIMON MAGUS OF ACTS 8:9-11 TAUGHT ONENESS
APOSTATE FIRST CENTURY MAGICIAN USED BY SATAN
Here’s the Scripture that all the earliest Authors of Christian Apologetics point to – one individual, Simon Magus, the magician, who started the “Oneness” teachings in the Body of Christ, by going to Rome and claiming that he, himself was God, just a few years after Jesus ascended, and the church began at Pentecost; although he did so by being empowered by Satan, of course, who was the ultimate source. By “magician,” in the Bible is meant not one who entertains with parlor tricks, but an enchanter, one who practices divination (fortune telling), puts spells on people and displays miracles, not from God, but from the evil “Angel of Light,” whom Jesus called the “god of this world.”
Acts: 8:9-11: “But there was a certain man, named Simon, who had before, in the same city, used magic, and astonished the nation of Samaria; pretending himself to be some extraordinary person: to whom they all paid regard, from the least to the greatest, saying, ‘This man is the great power of God.’ And they paid regard to him; because he had, for a long time, astonished them with his enchantments.
Acts 8:12-13: “But when they gave credit to Philip, declaring the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ; they were immersed, both men and women. And Simon himself also believed; and being immersed, he kept near to Philip, beholding, with amazement, the great and powerful miracles which were done.”
Acts 8:14-17: “Now when the Apostles, who were at Jerusalem, heard, that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John; who, going down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: (for he was not yet fallen on any of them; only, they were immersed into the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:18-24: “Now when Simon saw, that the Holy Spirit was given by the imposition of the Apostles’ hands, he offered them money, saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. But Peter said to him, Let your money go with you to destruction, since you have thought that the free gift of God might be purchased with money. You have no part nor lot in this matter; for your heart is not upright in the sight of God. Reform, therefore, from this your wickedness; and beg of God, if, indeed, the thought of your heart may be forgiven you; for, I perceive, that you are in the gall of bitterness, and bond of iniquity. And Simon answered and said, Make your supplications to the Lord on my behalf; that none of these things, which you have spoken, may come upon me.”
That’s all the Scriptures tell us about Simon Magus, but the early Church Fathers have a great deal to say about him, including quotes that say Simon Magus, at different times, claimed that he, himself, not Jesus was the Son of God; that he was the Supreme Father; and that he was “the power of God,” which would be the Holy Spirit, thus claiming all three personages within the Godhead as being he, himself, alone – resulting in a teaching of “Oneness.”
The following is from: “A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs: A Reference Guide to More than 700 Topics Discussed by the Early Church Fathers;” David W. Bercot, Editor
“There was a Samaritan, Simon, a native of the village called Gitto, who in the reign of Claudius Caesar, and in your royal city of Rome, did mighty acts of magic… He was considered a god, and as a god was honored by you with a statue. This statue was erected on the Tiber River, between the two bridges. It bore the following inscription in the language of Rome: “To Simon, the holy God.” …And almost all the Samaritans, and a few even of other nations worship him. They acknowledge him as the first god.” Justin Martyr 160 A.D.
“The Samaritans, Simon and Menander, did many mighty works by magic and deceived many. They remain deceived. Even among yourself [i.e., the pagan Romans], as I said before, Simon was in the royal city of Rome in the reign of Claudius Caesar (from 41 A.D. to 54 A.D.). He so greatly astonished the sacred Senate and the Roman people that he was considered a god. He was honored with a statue, just like the others whom you honor as gods… I advise you to destroy that statue.” Justin Martyr 160 A.D.
“When I communicated in writing with Caesar, I gave no thought to any of my people, that is, the Samaritans. Rather, I stated that they were in error to trust in the magician Simon of their own nation. They say that he is God above all power, authority, and might.” Justin Martyr 160 A.D.
“Simon the Samaritan was the magician of whom Luke, the disciple and follower of the apostles, [writes]… He set himself eagerly to contend against the apostles, in order that he himself might seem to have been a supernatural being. So he applied himself with still greater zeal to the study of the entirety of magic arts, so he could bewilder and overpower multitudes of men. This was his method during the reign of Claudius Caesar, who honored Simon with a statue because of his magical power, according to what is said. This man, then, was glorified by many persons as if he were a god. And he taught that it was himself who appeared among the Jews as the Son… All sorts of heresies derive their origin from this Simon of Samaria. He formed his sect in the following manner: At Tyre, a city of Phoenicia, he redeemed from slavery a certain woman named Helena. He used to take her along with him. He declared that this woman was the first conception of his mind.”
Irenaeus 180 A.D.
“God will also judge the vain speeches of the perverse Gnostics, by showing that they are the disciples of Simon Magus.”
Irenaeus 180 A.D.
“You install Simon Magus in your Pantheon, giving him a statue and the title of holy God.”
Tertullian 197 A.D.
“The doctrine of Simon’s sorcery taught the worship of angels. It was itself actually reckoned among idolatries and condemned by the apostle Peter in Simon’s own person.”
Tertullian 197 A.D.
“From that point forward, Simon Magus, who had just become a believer, was cursed by the apostles and ejected from the faith. For he was still thinking somewhat of his juggling sect. That is, he wanted to buy even the gift of the Holy Spirit through imposition of hands, so that he could include it among the miracles of his profession.”
Tertullian 200 A.D.
“There is the Simon of Samaria in the Acts of the Apostles, who bargained for the Holy Spirit. He had only a vain remorse that he and his money must perish together. After his condemnation of the truth, he applied his energies to the destruction of the truth, as if to console himself by revenge. In addition to the support with which his own magic arts furnished him, he had recourse to deception. He purchased a Tyrian woman of the name of Helen out of a brothel, with the same money that he had offered for the Holy Spirit – a transaction worthy of the wretched man. He actually pretended that he was the Supreme Father, and he further pretended that the woman was his own Primary Conception.”
Tertullian 210 A.D.
“At this very time, even the heretical dupes of this same Simon are so much elated by the extravagant pretension of their art, that they try to bring up from Hades the souls of the prophets themselves.”
Tertullian 210 A.D.
“The disciples, then, of this [Simon Magus] celebrate magical rites, and they resort to incantations. They transmit both love spells and charms… This Simon, deceiving many in Samaria by his sorceries, was reproved by the apostles, and he was put under a curse. All of this has been written in the Acts. But Simon afterwards renounced the faith.. And journeying as far as Rome, he came in conflict with the apostles. Peter offered repeated opposition to him, for Simon was deceiving many by his sorceries.”
Hippolytus 225 A.D.
“We know that Simon Magus gave himself the title of the “Power of God.” Origen 228 A.D.
“Celsus next pours down upon us a heap of names saying that he knows of the existence of certain Simonians, who worship Helen… as their teacher. They are called Helenians, However, it has escaped the notice of Celsus that the Simonians do not at all acknowledge Jesus to be the Son of God. Rather, they consider Simon to be the Power of God.”
Origen 248 A.D.
“In order to gain many followers to himself, Simon protected his disciples from the danger of death [through martyrdom]… by teaching them to regard idolatry as a matter of indifference, So even at the beginning of their existence, the followers of Simon were not exposed to persecution. After all, the wicked demon who was conspiring against the teachings of Jesus was well aware that none of his own teachings would be weakened by the teachings of Simon.”
Origen 248 A.D.
So, there you have one man “in the skin,” in the lst century, within ten years of the beginning of the church at Pentecost, showing great miracles (but not from God) and wonders, and claiming that he, himself was the “holy” god, i.e., all three persons of the trinity, and apparently had some success… for the same unholy angels of light (who answer to Satan) who inspired his beliefs and actions have been telling his lies to other “chosen ones” down through the centuries.
William Marion Branham (1909-1965) was born to a fifteen year old mother and eighteen year old father on April 16, 1909, in a dirt floored cabin on a farm in the Kentucky mountains near Birksville. His father was a logger and the future self-professed prophet was the first-born of nine children.
According to Branham, in My Life Story, his birth was accompanied by a “supernatural” sign. His superstitious nonChristian family told him that immediately after his predawn birth, an unnatural light shone in the opening of the cabin’s small window from the darkness outside. After placing him in his mother’s arms for the first time, her midwife opened the window shutter. Their windows had no glass in them, and as dawn broke, a circular one foot diameter halo appeared above the baby William’s head.
Branham’s family believed he had supernatural visitations from “spiritual entities” beginning at the age of three. “The light which appeared above him as a halo immediately after his birth, continued to appear at times throughout his life and was seen by congregations while he was in the pulpit. Various photographs showing this halo or flame are still circulated today by his followers who believe he was God’s final prophet, and have accepted this light or halo as proof of God’s presence and approval.
Genesis tells us that Satan appeared to Eve disguised in a Snake and in the Hebrew is described as “shining” standing upright. John the Baptist was never described as having fire above his head, nor did Elijah or Moses or Isaiah or any of Jesus’ apostles. Believing that supernatural manifestations are from God, unless substantiated by God’s Word, is to fall prey to a “doctrine of demons.”
The only time fire ever appeared over believer’s heads was in the Upper Room, when the Body of Christ was officially formed through individual indwelling by God, the Holy Spirit.
If William Branham’s family had been Bible believing Christians, or if Branham himself or his followers had only read the Scriptures, they would have recognized the manifestations surrounding William Branham as Satanic, and would have been able to cast out Satan in Jesus’ name. Instead, they embraced a false gospel, and an unBiblical view of the triune God, thus endangering their eternal souls.
Branham has admitted that his parents were not Christians, and consequently were not following the Lord, did not go to church, were married out of the church and had “no religion at all.” his parents lacked the necessary scriptural knowledge and spiritual discernment to be able to recognize the nonBiblical manifestations in Branham’s childhood as demonic. He said that his father “was a typical mountain boy who drank all the time.” (My Life Story)
“As a young child, according to Branham, while he was under a great white Poplar tree, he heard something making a strange noise, something going “Whoooosssh, whooooossssh.” He looked around, and saw a little whirlwind, or a little cyclone and just a few feet out from under the branches of this big tree, it made a whirl sounding. About halfway up the tree was another whirlwind, moving the leaves.”
He started up the lane again and a human voice said, “Don’t you never drink, smoke, or defile your body in any way. There’ll be a work for you to do when you get older.” Branham then ran home screaming at the top of his voice.”I was scared and never went near that tree again. I’d go down the other side of the garden, because I thought there was a man up in that tree and He was talking to me in a great deep voice.”
At the age of 24, in 1933, He became an evangelist at revivals in Indiana, however, upon the death of his wife, he believed God was punishing him because he had rejected the deviant “oneness” doctrine. He started preaching in “Oneness” (Jesus only or Jesus is all) Pentecostal churches who deny the triune God of the Bible. He taught that Jesus is the only manifestation of God and that the biblically taught “Trinity” or “Triune God” of orthodox Christianity is a lie.
The Bible says that “God is Love.” If God were not a triune God, but a singular one, i.e., without the plurality of the three personalities of the Godhood, during the eons in which God existed before He created the earth and mankind, this love would have been narcissism, or self-love, which the scriptures condemn, and because the Bible says that “God changes not,” we know he is now as He has always been.
The Hebrew term Elohim is the most ancient name with which God describes Himself and is used in the first reference to Him in Genesis, He who is the creator of all things existing. Elohim is a plural noun, used consistently with a singular verb. This is a perfect word picture of the Trinity. God’s attributes belong equally to three persons eternally coexisting, all associated with the creation, and all sharing Gods attributes, never more than three. It is impossible for any “Oneness” adherent to find otherwise! How can all three be attributed to being the creator, as God himself claims, if there is only one existing at a time? All three were responsible for creation.
The Father was involved in the creation; ( Eph. 3:14, Mal. 2:10)
The Son was involved in the creation ( Jn.1:3, Heb. 1:2 Col. 1:16 ) All things were made through him.
The Holy Spirit was involved in the creation ( Ps. 104:30, Job 26:13 “By his spirit he made the heavens Job 33:4.
Since all three were involved in creating and all other acts of God. They all are eternal, and are responsible for the same activities. Then all three are the one Elohim, three in unity, acting as the one God. This is denied by Oneness, Bernard, a oneness apologist, who states… “God was the Holy Spirit back at creation and used his role as spirit in creation (Gen.1:2) furthermore, God used his role as son-that is, he depended upon his plan for the future sonship-back at creation. (Heb.1:2)” (Oneness of God p.143) If the son is “only a plan that will unfold in the future,” what we now have is a contradiction because all three are attributed in the same manner as being involved in the creation of the world and of mankind.
Bernard insists the Son is the humanness only and that it speaks of him in the future tense. If this is so why should we believe that the Father or Spirit were there too ? This attempt to deny the eternal Sonship of Jesus is to make of Him a liar when He said “Before Moses was, I AM” – eternally coexisting with the Father before the Creation of the Earth. The “Oneness” adherents have placed themselves under a Biblical curse, in twisting God’s scriptures to make them fit their own beliefs. Because the Bible attributes eternality and participation to all three, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, then we should believe, and not call God a liar.
Satan always tries to produce an imitation of God’s Word, God’s Prophets, God’s spiritual gifts, and of course, God’s own Son, the Messiah. As we are told in the book of Hebrews, God spoke finally through Jesus, His Son, the Christ, and since his Revelation of the future was revealed to John, the beloved Disciple in approximately 96 A.D., the revelation has been closed. God has sent no more prophets, nor will He.
We are now in the final days when most of the church will be blinded to the truth of the Gospel, and will fall away, for Jesus said, “When I return, will I find faith upon the earth?” The revivals are false, the nonBiblical prophesying is false, for God, in His Holy Word, predicted and foretold that this would happen. False prophets such as William Branham were of Satan.
A picture of William Branham on the internet, in a trance state, standing behind a pulpit, being held up by two men, one at each side, immediately informs us that he was not speaking from God.
We are told clearly, in lst Corinthians that “the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet,” whch means that the prophet is always in control of himself. Paul tells us in 1st Corinthians that it is only when they are “led away” by demons, as they were in the Mystery Religions, before they became followers of Jesus, that they are out of control, i.e. in an altered state of consciousness, for Satan loves puppets. If William Branham or his “followers” had only read the Scriptures, they would have realized that, and would have been able to cast out Satan in Jesus’ name, rather than repeat his lies all these years.
Branham, like the founders of Islam and Mormonism, claimed that throughout his life he received guidance from an angel, whose first appearance to him was in a cave in Kentucky in 1946. Muhammed, the descendant of Ismail, the son of Abraham, who was founder of Islam, which now claims over 1,000,000,000 (one billion) members, had also claimed to be visited by an angel calling himself Gabriel, in a cave outside of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon Church also received his knowledge from a “shining angel” who called himself Moroni.
God, in His Holy Word warns us against being fooled by Satan’s trick of appearing as an angel:
2 Corinthians 11:13-15: “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.”
Galatians 1:8-9: “But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed.”
Branham claimed to receive psychic powers from his angelic (demonic) visitor, enabling him to read other people’s thoughts. In fact, he would not start a service until the angel was present, and even announced on occasion that he was waiting for “his angel.” “The Father of the Charismatic movement,” Kenneth Hagin, confirmed that Branham’s prophecies and thought reading were completely accurate, and he too failed to exercise the Biblical spiritual discernment to understand this was an ungodly manifestation of Satan.
The “psychic” ability to know other’s thoughts is a spiritist manifestation of familiar spirits
Christ, being God, could read thoughts, for Christ was Himself, the Living Logos, the Word of God, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12.
The Apostles, on specific occasions, were sometimes given knowledge by the Holy Spirit as a temporary sign gift, before the completion of the New Testament, in order to glorify God within the body of Christ; however, occultic mystics like Edgar Cayce were given imitations of this ability by demonic powers commonly called “familiar spirits.” Cayce spoke in a trance state, acting as a medium for demonic spirits. Satan has always created inferior imitations of God’s abilities and gifts in the attempt to receive worship as though he were himself God or through the impowerment of one of his false prophets.
Branham’s appealed to Pentecostals and Charismatics with his common country dress, and his admission of a humble background of poverty. He had on occasion refused local offerings saying he had no need for the funds. Branham was unique in this aspect, among faith healers. Branham’s self-effacing humility about his background and lack of higher education, made him appear to be genuine to those who desperately sought a true worker of miracles.
Branham was far less than forthcoming about his unbiblical “Oneness” doctrine and his other strange doctrines regarding the sexual “seed of Satan” theory, and the Trinitarian Pentecostals embraced him. Because he was a crowd pleaser, the Full Gospel Business Men’s International promoted him. Demos Shakarian, founder of the Business Men was “open minded,” but after Branham’s doctrines were finally revealed in their entirety, the only Pentecostal remaining to promote him was Kenneth Hagin. Hagin agreed with Branham’s claim that he was a true Biblical prophet, for Branham completely lacked humility about proclaiming himself as a true prophet of God.
What did the False Prophet, William Branham,
“really” believe – in his Own Blasphemous Words?
“We’re identified with him in Acts 2. We’re identified with them, with the same baptism, same thing.
“All he (Jesus) was then, and all he is, all he was, and all he is, we are. That’s exactly.”
“Same thing by being a true Christian. You have to be identified with it.
” I preached with Moses and war-with Noah and warned the people of the oncoming judgment, to be a real Christian.
I was with Moses at the burning bush; I saw the Pillar of Fire; I saw His glory. I was with Moses up there in the wilderness.
To be a Christian, I have to be identified with everything God was, to be a Christian. I seen His glory; I heard His voice. Don’t try to explain it away from me now, ’cause I was there. I know what I’m talking about. I seen what happened. Yes, sir!”
“I was at the Red Sea when I seen the Spirit of God move down and part the water from one side, … through about a ninety foot sea.
I seen the Spirit of God. I walked with Moses through that dry ground, across that Red Sea. I stood by Mount Sinai and seen the thunder and lightning falling.
I eat manna with them out there. I drank from that Rock; I’m still doing it tonight. I was identified with the manna-eaters. I was identified with them that drunk from the rock.”
“I was with John the Baptist and before them critics. I seen the Spirit of God descending; I heard the voice of God say, “This is My beloved Son in Whom I’m pleased to dwell in.” Yes, sir! I sure was Identified with him. That’s exactly right.”
“I was with the 120 in the Upper Room. I was identified up there with them. Oh, I – I feel religious. Amen! I was identified there. I’m one of them. I was identified; I got the same experience they had. I was there when it happened, to be a true Christian.” ( The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us).
William Branham was completely deluded, for the bible does not teach this! Not at all!
On the contrary, God’s Word tells us in Col.2:18:
“Let no one cheat you out of your reward, taking delight in FALSE humility, and the worship, intruding in those things which he has seen, vainly puffed up by his carnal mind.”
Branham said in Seven Church Ages that the Church is built on “The Rock of Revelation.”
Jesus, however, taught in Matthew 7:24, that He was the sure foundation, and that there is no other. Paul said “The Rock is Christ” who was in the wilderness (I Cor.10:4). Peter says the foundation Rock is Christ (1 Peter.2:5-8).
As God’s Word clearly tells us, there is no other foundation but Christ and there can never be any other foundation than Jesus Christ.
William Branham, False Prophet,
Believed That he was Elijah the Prophet
“It is all over.(speaking for Jesus) I am going to speak all right. Yes, I am ‘here in the midst of the Church. The Amen of God, faithful and true will reveal Himself and it will BE BY MY PROPHET.” Oh yes, that is so. Rev. 10:7 “And in the days of the voice of the seventh messenger, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished as He hath declared to His servants the prophets.” …. He is sending a vindicated prophet. He is sending a prophet after almost two thousand years. He is sending someone who is so far from organization, education, and the world of religion that as John the Baptist and Elijah of old, He will hear only from God and he will have “thus saith the Lord” and speak for God. He will be God’s mouthpiece and he, as it is declared in Malachi 4:6, WILL TURN THE HEARTS OF THE CHILDREN BACK TO THE FATHERS.” (The Message To The Laodicean Age).
The completely False prophecies of William Branham were to continue:
” See, immediately after the coming of THIS Elijah, the earth will be cleansed by hate and the wicked burned to ashes. Of course, this did NOT happen at the time of John (the Elijah for his day.)… .” (The Message To The Laodicean Age).
Branham believed himself to be THIS Elijah, the earth was not cleansed nor the wicked burned.
“That this age will, end around 1977. …, I base this prediction on seven major continuous visions that came to me one Sunday morning in June, 1933. The Lord Jesus spoke to me and said that the coming of the Lord was drawing nigh, but that before He came, seven major events would transpire. (The Message To The Laodicean Age ).
I still maintain this prediction after thirty years because, Jesus DID NOT say no man could know the year, month, week or day in which His coming was to be completed. So I repeat, I sincerely believe and maintain as a private student of the Word, along with divine inspiration that 1977 ought to terminate the-World systems and usher in the millenium.” (Seven Church Ages)
” The revival is over. America had her last chance in 1957. Now the tongues, are God’s sign of impending disaster, even as they were when they appeared upon the wall at Belshazzar’s feast….(The Message To The Laodicean Age)
He opened the 7 seals “And the Angels took me into that pyramid of themselves – the mysteries of God known only to them. And now, they were the messengers that come to interpret that pyramid or that Message of the secret of these Seven Seals which lays with inside the pyramid.”
“We find out that during that time I saw seven Angels in a form of a pyramid that swept down and picked me up. And I was brought east to open the Seven Seals for God.” (Commission By Seven Mighty Angels). It is Jesus who alone is worthy to open the 7 seals.
The famous Pillar of fire picture probably indicates demonic possession, and at a very minimum, strong demonic influence.
During his ministry the light was photographed many times. To question whether this was real or not may be redundant. It was the same Pillar of Fire which had been with Branham since the time of his birth. When praying for the sick he would watch the Pillar of fire move around the building from one person to another, revealing the “thoughts and intents” of the heart, the past, the present and the future. These were demonic manifestations and the work of “familiar spirits.”
2 Cor.11:13-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” Light effects does not prove whether someone speaks from God at all. Joseph Smith, the false prophet who founded the major Cult, the Mormon Church, saw pillars of light and angels constantly. Being impressed by the supernatural is deceitful. Genesis tells us that Satan came disguised in the form of a Snake and in the Hebrew, he is described as “shining” standing upright. Eve and then Adam were bewitched and then betrayed.
John the Baptist had no fire above his head. The only ones who did were those in the upper room. It happened only once and only briefly then, for the purpose of demonstrating that God had sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within believers in Jesus, as He had promised them. This began the Church.
William Branham was seen with pictures of a light taken above his head, and this became the convincing proof to the Pentecostal followers, as is the stigmata, the blood coming from the hands and feet of the Catholic mystic to the Catholic as they are led into a false doctrine by the angel (of light). It is not the physical light that traveled with Branham, but the light of truth of Gods Holy Word which must be compared to the deception from Branham. To accept every person who comes with an experience and exhibits the supernatural is to believe that whoever exhibits spiritual power and names the name of Christ, speaks for Christ, even though they clearly contradict His written Word! To fail to practice spiritual discernment in this manner will indeed eliminate denominations just like Branham wanted, however; it will also lead us straight into the one world Church of the AntiChrist.
Branham taught that the Word of God was given in three forms, the Zodiac, the Egyptian pyramids, and the written scripture.(Al Dager, Vengeance is Ours, Sword).
The TRINITY, which is the fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith and is God’s Biblical Self-description is attacked and denied by Branham:
“The Way of a True Prophet,” Branham stated: “Why don’t you examine your baptism of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and that false `trinity’ it’s so-called, which is nothing in the world but three offices of one God, titles. No, name of Father, there’s no such a thing as name, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost—Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, which is the Lord Jesus Christ.” (In the Days of the Voice of the 7th Angel).
Branham claimed that because, “…not one place in the Bible is trinity ever mentioned…It’s Catholic error and you Protestants bow to it” (Conduct, Order, Doctrine, Q and A).
In Branham’s book “Conduct, Order, Doctrine of the Church: “the “First thing is to straighten out you on your ‘trinity’ Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. “God is like a three-foot rule… The first twelve inches was God, the Father; the second twelve inches, God, the Son, and the same God; the third twelve inches was God, the Holy Ghost, the same God,”
“How can three persons be in one God? Not only is there no Bible for it but it shows even a lack of intelligent reasoning. Three distinct persons, though identical substance, make three gods, or language has lost its meaning entirely. God – He has three offices or – a threefold manifestation – of the One Person, Jesus.”
Now, we find, God all ages has had skin on It. See? (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us) This denies the one incarnation fulfilled in the New Testament, if God “always was a man.” He also Denied the personality of the Holy Spirit. ‘The Holy Spirit is the ‘Word-Manifested Thought’.” (An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages).
William Branham insisted that “believers baptized by a Trinitarian formula must be rebaptized in the name of Jesus only.” (Burgess and McGee, Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements)
On the Son Jesus Christ, Branham taught “Oneness,” an apostate viewpoint which denies the Biblical Triune God as He Scripturally Self-Defined Himself:
“See, He came in three names. He came as Son of man, which was prophet. .. He never said He was the Son of God; He said He was the Son of man. Now, today; He is the Son of God, which He returned back, and now He is in the form of the Holy Ghost, the unseen Person. but yet, God, the Son of God. In the Millennium: He sits upon His Father’s Throne, which He’ll be Son of David He revealed Himself first as Son of man, a prophet this age, through the church age, Son of man … or Son of God; and in the other age, Son of David. Three sons!
“before the promised son showed up, God manifested Himself there at Sodom as a prophet, being a man, in flesh, God. Elohim, as I heard someone speak It a while ago, which the Godhead bodily was in Him. He was the fullness. Elohim is the fullness of the Godhead, bodily. (The Day This Scripture is Fulfilled)
“He never called Himself the Son of God. He referred to Himself, the – ‘Son of man’, because He had to come according to the Scripture.”(The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us)
Branham is mistaken, for according to the Bible, in Luke 1:35: the angel says he will be called “the Son of God,” and in John 10:36 Jesus said, “because I said I am the Son of God.” Jn.5:25; Luke 22:70; Mt.27:43; Jn.19:7. In John 9:35 He (Jesus) said unto him, “Do you believe on the Son of God?”
“People talk about Jesus being the Eternal Son of God. Now isn’t that a contradiction? Whoever heard of a Son being eternal? Sons have beginnings, but that which is eternal never had a beginning.” (“An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages”,p.21) Thus, there is no biblical understanding on the part of Branham. In a speech given October 2, 1957 the prophet said, “See, there cannot be an Eternal son, because a son had to have a beginning. And so Jesus had a beginning, God had no beginning,” (“Conduct, Order, Doctrine of the Church).
“What is God? God is a great Eternal. At the beginning, way back before there was a beginning, he wasn’t even God. Did you know that? A God is an object of worship, and there wasn’t nothing to worship him; He lived alone. And in him was attributes. What is an attribute? A thought.” (The Spoken Word).
“Jesus was created. When the Holy Ghost came upon Mary He created within her the cell that would multiply and become the body of our Lord. That cell was created. It was the beginning of the creation of God. That is who Jesus is.”(An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages).
The Bible disagrees with Branham, in Matthew 1:23 the Virgin Mary, was told she would bear “Emmanuel” (Hebrew for “God with us”), ” and John 1:3: “All things were made through him and without him nothing was made that was made.”
Colossions 1:16 speaks of the Son “And he is before all things, and in him all things consist,” and John 1:1 states that the Word was “with God” and “the Word was God.” Branham, however, denies God’s Word, “In John 1, In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and was God. and the word was made flesh , and dwelt among us. Now, in the beginning was the Word. A word is thought expressed. In the beginning He wasn’t even God.” (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us).
Branham is denying the Scripture he just read, apparently refusing to recognize that Jesus is being called “the Word.” This is proof his so-called supernatural manifestations could NOT EVER have been from God, as he had no knowledge of God’s very nature.
Branham continues: “So it tonight when we got the other part of the contract. When God tore His Son in two at Calvary, taken the body up for- a sacrifice, and sent the Spirit down to us, that once lived in’ a man, Jesus (that same God is in veil tonight in the form of the Holy Ghost), those two pieces has to come together; then you are part of the contract. God did this to be better known to man, when He made Hisself man.” (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us).
“But on the day of Pentecost He changed Himself from being the Son of man to the Son of God. He came, not with the people, He came in the people.” (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us)
This is the occultic teachings of the “Manifest Sons of God,” for no prophet of God could speak falsely in this manner and display such abusive theology on the nature of God and still have God do the so called mightiest miracles through him.
William Branham blaspheously claimed to be “God manifested in the flesh.” He said: “When I told this to a man the other day, when this piece had come out about this man being healed, this same minister said, “They make a god out of you, Brother Branham.”
Well, he was a critic,… I said, “Is that too far from the Scripture to be that?” See? I said, “No, it isn’t.” I said, “Because Jesus called prophets gods.” See? That’s right. God … And they say, “Well, you people try to take the place of God.”
“That’s not too far out; that’s exactly what it is. That’s exactly! God manifested in flesh, just as He promised.” (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us)
“In them days it was God in a man, His Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that. Not just a prophet, not just an ordinary man, ordinary human, It was God In Christ, God, in a man, the fullness of the Godhead bodily In a man. God, in a man; now, it’s God in men. See? The fullness of God in the Godhead bodily in His entire Church, manifesting Himself, fullfilling His Word.” (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us).
This is the Manifest Sons of God teaching on the Latter Rain. The Church is not God nor is it the fullness of God, for this denies the uniqueness of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son because it attempts to place the Church in a state of equality with him as many sons with the same nature.
In a further distortion of the nature of God, Branham expounds, “Now, we find, God in all ages has had skin on It. See? God has been hid behind a veil. (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us)
“And we find out here that God has always had skin on Him. When Moses seen Him, He had skin on Him; He looked like a man. When God was behind the curtains, He had skin on Him. And God, tonight, in His Church is veiled in His Church with skin on Him. He’s still the same God tonight. We find that. But now, as ever, the skin veil is what catches the traditions. They just can’t believe that that’s God making them people act like that, See? It’s because God’s veiled in His Church, in skin-skin on It. That’s right. He’s hid from the unbeliever, and revealed to the believer. Yes, sir!
Now, when their tradition veil is–of-of traditions of the elders and the Word is broke through (oh, of course, today), then comes in plain view, we see Him, Deity again veiled in human flesh. Hebrews 1 said so, and also Genesis 18. You remember God was a man, standing there eating and talking with Abraham, and told what Sarah was doing in the tent behind It. And Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of man,” Deity veiled again in human flesh. (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us)
William Branham claimed to have received verification from God on the Word Faith teaching while meditating on the Scripture, “If Ye say unto this mountain, be thou removed and cast into the sea…” He was thinking how he had never preached on that text, but thought also how is it in the Word.
Just as these thoughts went through his mind, a Voice spoke to him and said, “What do you want now? Say it and you can have it.” The Voice repeated, “What do you want now? Say it and you can have it.” he answered, “I’d like to have three squirrels.”(August 1964, Branham to Pearry Green.
This is completely nonbiblical as our faith is toward God and faith means to believe and trust in Him, not our feelings or our own words.
Branham’s Apostate Teaching on Those
Who Were The Serpent’s Seed
Branham taught that Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3) was sexual sin. According to Branham, Eve was seduced into a sexual relationship with the serpent and became impregnated with her son Cain. He explained, “Here is what actually happened in the Garden of Eden. The Word says that Eve was beguiled by the serpent. She was actually seduced by the serpent. He was as close to being a human that his seed could, and did mingle with that of the woman and cause her to conceive.” (The Original Sin, pp. 2, 3).
Since THREE sons were born from TWO acts of Adam, You know POSITIVELY that ONE of those three WAS NOT the son of Adam – - – The truth of the matter is that eve had two sons in her womb TWO sons (twins) from separate impregnation’s. She was carrying twins, with Cain’s conception sometime previous to that of Abel’s.” (Branham, An Exposition of The Seven Church Ages).
William Branham said that Eve’s sin involved sexual relations with the serpent, but the “seed of God” were Branham’s followers, otherwise known as “the Bride” or “the New Breed” (The Toronto Blessing, Stephen Sizer).
Branham taught that “the serpent’s seed was Cain and all his descendants. They are predestined for Hell. The Godly seed is Seth and his descendants who have been revealed by their call to Branham’s ministry. A third group, represented by those still in denominational churches have freewill to choose Heaven or Hell. The Godly seed are the Bride of Christ and will be raptured before Tribulation. Denominations are or eventually will be the Mark of the Beast and those who remain therein will go through the Tribulation.” (Dictionary of Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements).
“Eve’s eating was adultery with the serpent, Proverbs 30:20. Remember, he was not a snake at this point. That curse came after the act. … It was not an apple that caused Adam and Eve to realize they were naked. But it was a sex act. … The serpent was an upright handsome creature. He was, in fact, `the missing link’ that science even in their unspiritual wisdom, can see is missing `between man and monkey.’ … Satan used this creature to get himself into the Human race.” (Was it an Apple?)
The Bible says, “Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. (Ge.4:1) He did not say I have gotten a man from Satan, who would know Adam or Branham?
Branham’ had a distorted view of woman because of his father which may have led him to misunderstand what occurred in the garden. About his fathers constant comraderie with young woman he stated, “I…This was my remark then, ‘THEY’RE NOT WORTH A GOOD CLEAN BULLET TO KILL THEM WITH IT.’ That’s right. And I hated women. That’s right. And I just have to watch every move now, to keep from still thinking the same thing.” (William M. Branham, ‘My Life Story’).
This is not the fruit of the Spirit of God. Branham admits that he has to “watch every move now – to keep from thinking the same thing about women, i.e., that “they’re not worth a good clean bullet to kill them with…” – and this man claimed to speak for God, to be a prophet of God. What an abomination to God such speech had to have been!
Branham’s fifth vision also blamed the moral problem of our age on women. “God showed me that women began to be out ‘of their place with the granting of the vote. Then they cut off their hair,”The lord never told believers to obey his law.
The Zodiac and Pyramids He thought “The streets of gold have been paved. The gates of gigantic pearls are raised and hinged. Like a pyramid she stands so fair and glorious.”(the Last warning) Branham taught that the Word of God was given in three forms, the zodiac, the Egyptian pyramids, and the written scripture.”(Al Dager, Vengeance is Ours, P. 59)
The idea that the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt was constructed by Enoch as a memorial to God ( All Things Are Possible).
Kurt Koch wrote: “…Branharm’s parents believed in fortune telling and he was burdened through occultism at an early age.” Branham, has a pyramid shaped tombstone. So he was very much influenced by paganism.
Branham said the ZODIAC AND THE EGYPTIAN PYRAMIDS were equal to the Scriptures in the revelation of God’s word. he has a pyramid shaped tombstone in Indiana. (William M. Branham, Adoption (Jeffersonville, IN: Spoken Word Publications
The Zodiac was founded in Babylon by Nimrod, founder of the first false religious system after the flood, which was a forerunner to all the Mystery Religions of Antiquity, based on elitism, secret membership, secret inititations, belief in reincarnation and salvation through secret esoteric knowledge. God condemns the “Zodiac” repeatedly throughout Scripture. How could William Branham possibly not have known this?
The Egyptian Pyramids were used as elaborate burial chambers by Egyptian inheritors of the Babylonian Mystery Religions, who believed in Reincarnation and worshipped Ra, the Sun god, Horus, the god of the Dead, Isis, the fertility goddess, and many many other gods. This was idolatry, and yet, William Branham, a self professed Christian who claimed to be a prophet of God venerated the “Pyramids” as containing revelation from God equal to the Bible, His Holy Word. He was clearly deceived, and in being deceived, was allowing himself to serve Satan.
Branham claimed to be the 7th Prophet of God. These Prophets, he claimed, were each associated with one of the seven church ages of Revelation. He superimposed the names of the churches over the men’s names in the following order: Ephesian-Paul; Smyrnea-Ireneaus ; Pergamean-Martin; Thyatirean-Columba; Sardisean-Luther; Philadelphia-Wesley; Laodicean-Branham (As a false prophet, Branham does indeed represent this last apostate church age, but never a a prophet of the Living God.)
William Branham believed in three bibles. In addition to the written bible …, there are two others: “The first one, he put in the sky, the Zodiac…he made the next one in the pyramid, back in the days of Enoch…(Robert Livesay, Understanding Deception) These symbols are pure occultism and people involved in esoterism and theosophy have believed this long before Branham.
Satan – - awaits his ‘time of eternal annihilation – We believe that he will absolutely be done completely away and annihilated. —Is the lake of fire helI Eternal? No, sir. No, sir Anything that was created is not Eternal — If anybody ever tells you that you’re going to burn in an Eternal hell, I want the scripture for it — it was created for that to destroy”
Now don’t let anyone say that I don’t believe in a lake of fire and in punishment. I do. I don’t know how long it will last, but it will eventually be removed. In Rev.21:8, it says that at those sinners mentioned will have their part in the lake of fire. But the true interpretation of the word is not ‘part’ but it is ‘time’.” The Revelation of the Seven Seals, pp. 28, 48; An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages).
William Branham changes the words of the book of Revelation. A TRUE prophet of God would NEVER change the words of Scripture. He is wrong about the Greek word, “meros” which is: a part due or assigned to one lot, destiny a measure, to some degree, as respects a part, severally, individually. It has no time limit.
The Latter Rain movement of the late 1940’s had given birth to numerous evil sub-movements and sub-teachings. The Manifest Sons of God was divided into two major sects. The Walk, and the Body of Christ. The Walk came out of the Latter Rain Movement under the “apostleship” of John Robert Stevens, who like Paul Cain and others was a William Branham disciple. His was the Church of the Living Word in Redondo Beach, California.
The current Charismatic Dominion Theology expressed in spiritual warfare, the spiritual mapping of C. Peter Wagner, and the current Vineyard Revivals – based on the occultic signs and wonders movement, is derived from the Manifested Sons of God doctrine. Manifest Sons teachings are Kingdom Now – Dominion Theology – Reconstructionism.
They believe in the restoration of the Church, restoration of the 5 fold ministry with the offices of apostles and prophets, having authority through its leaders by strong shepherding and discipleship. A perfection of the saints, immortalization, and the attainment of “being Christ” as we become just like Christ in nature and ability. The Manifest Sons of God doctrine has an eschatology of dominionism through the perfecting of the saints under the leadership guidance of the latter-day prophets and apostles. They mostly deny a rapture in the classic sense. Some replace it with individual raptures, a collective transformation to immortality on earth, or none at all.
This quote is representative of the teaching “the doctrine of the Rapture was a great and effective ruse of the enemy to implant in the Church a retreat mentality … already this yoke has been cast off by the majority in the advancing church, and it will soon be cast off by all.” (Rick Joyner, THE HARVEST)
The Manifest Sons of God are dismissing the historical great and blessed hope of Jesus’ return, and in its place are substituting a new pagan leadership for the Church, based on Satan’s original lie to Eve that Godhood is attainable to individual men through elite secret knowledge.
The modern Spiritual warfare practice is an attachment to the signs and wonders movement which finds its roots in the Latter Rain Movement of the 1940’s and William Branham’s apostate idolatrous teachings which immediately preceded the modern Charismatic movement. They teach that revival will come by the Church being led by these “super” leaders or “latter day” prophets of God, in defeating demonic spirits through spiritual warfare, prayer, and fasting. The spiritual warfare is to be conducted through intense emotional worship and praise, including bizarre occultic “holy” laughter and animalistic manifestations, and by spiritual mapping, identifying strongholds, rebuking demonic powers and binding territorial spirits.
“God’s people are going to start to exercise rule, and they’re going to take dominion over the Power of Satan. They’re going to bring diabolical princes down. The dark powers that hover over the Parliament buildings of the nations are going to be paralyzed by the corporate prayer of an authoritative community.
“As the rod of His strength goes out of Zion, He’ll change legislation. He’ll chase the devil off the face of God’s earth, and God’s people together, doing the will of God, will bring about God’s purposes and God’s reign. ” (Ern Baxter, National Men’s Shepherds Conference, Kansas City, Missouri, 1975
The apostles will rule the Church through establishing independent churches, unaffiliated with the corrupt denominations (William Branham’s teaching). The exception which is currently underway, is that denominational churches would abandon being separate, join the movement coming under their leadership. It is essential to the Latter Rain movement for the church to be unified as one, under a central leadership. Otherwise Christ cannot be incarnated (manifested) in the Church and give his power to conquer the world for Christ.
That the world will be conquered through an elite group of overcomers who produce signs and wonders unlike anything ever seen, even in the early church by the apostles. This they believe will lead us to the greatest revival of history. An endtime harvest of billions of souls, where the majority of the world will be won to Christ and the kingdom would be established or ready to be received by Christ.
This harvest will be so great that no one will look back at the early church as a standard; all will be saying that the Lord has certainly saved His best wine for last. The early church was a firstfruits offering, truly this will be a harvest! It was said of the Apostle Paul that he was turning the world upside down; it will be said of the apostles soon to be anointed that they have turned an upside down world right side up. Nations will tremble at the mention of their name.” (Rick Joyner, Restoration, May/June 1988, the Harvest)
What does Joyner mean they will turn the world rightside up? Are they going to undo the work of the Apostle Paul, or maybe he means a new thing altogether?
“Angelic appearances will be common to the saints and a visible glory of the Lord will appear upon some for extended periods of time as power flows through them. There will be no plague, disease, or physical condition, including lost limbs, AIDS, poison gas, or radiation, which will resist the healing and miracle gifts working in the saints during this time.” (Rick Joyner, The Harvest)
The apostles and prophets would give blessings upon those whom bless, and curses upon those whom they curse. The power of their words would bring results. They will complete the conquest of the nations before Christ returns. The conquering will be done as “Joel’s army ” a group of immortal beings that will bring judgment upon the ungodly and all who do not accept the authority of the NEW Apostles and prophets. The tribulation is replaced with manifestations of power executing Gods judgement through Joels army to cleanse the earth of the evil and bring order to establish his kingdom.
Those who go further into the different levels will achieve a certain degree of holiness under the direction of the apostles and prophets. They will overcome death, and will become immortal.
The Manifestation of the Sons of God
Romans 8:19: “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”
“The Earth and all of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, the time when they will come into their maturity and immortalization… When the Church receives its full inheritance and redemption then creation will be redeemed from its cursed condition of decay, change and death… the Church has a responsibility and ministry to the rest of creation. Earth and Its natural creation is anxiously waiting for the Church to reach full maturity and come to full sonship. When the Church realizes its full sonship, its bodily redemption will cause a redemptive chain reaction throughout all of creation(Bill Hamon, The Eternal Church)
This is what is called in the new age the paradigm shift, while biblical terms are used it is identical in its process and affect . “I see the great year of Jubilee, when we shall pass through the veil into the very Presence of the fullness of God, to be filled with this fullness and go forth proclaiming liberty to all of creation. Romans 8 calls this the “Manifestation of the Sons of God”, and Says the whole creation is groaning and crying for this day. …This is the ultimate anointing! This is the fullness of the Spirit! This is the Spirit without measure that Jesus had, spoken of in John 3:34, reserved until the end time for His Brethren!”‘
(EAGLE SAINTS ARISE, Bill Britton)
The above distorted teaching is based on a misinterpretation of Romans 8:19-23 which speaks of the “Manifestation of the Sons of God.” The belief is that some will obtain immortality by incarnating Christ before he returns. What is it that all creation is waiting for? According to orthodox Christianity, all creation awaits the removal of the “Curse of Futility”, which sin placed upon it by God from the Fall of Adam. What they neglect is the context and the other passages that explain this event. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”
The adoption the redeeming of our body, when, how?
Phil. 3:20-21 “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.”
1 Thess. 4:16-17 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
1 Cor.15:51-54 “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
After the Ascension, the angels told the Apostles who watched, Acts 1:11 ” This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” The Holy Spirit was sent to earth shortly after Jesus ascended 2,000 years age, consequently there is no subsequent reason for an additional “sending of the spirit” for the Church, nor is there any other way for Christ to come back but the Scriptural way. He will return to earth in the same body in which He ascended, and not within the church as the corporate body. Anyone who disagrees is arguing with God’s Word and inherently calling God a liar by denying his written Revelation to mankind.
Hebrews 9:28 “so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” It is Christ who appears and changes us, not some event separate from this. We wait for him, we cannot accomplish this on our own. It his coming that is connected to this event, and whether one believes in a pre, mid, or post rapture does not change the connection of his coming for this to occur.
It has always been understood that Jesus Himself is the One Who would do the restoring of the kingdom. When he comes again at the second coming, the curse on the earth will be lifted, we would be changed and he would make null and void the affects of the curse on the earth, however, biblically it is not until after the millennium that the new heavens and earth replace the former and death will be no more(Rev.21:4).
But, the Manifested Sons of God doctrine is different from Scripture. Under a delusion from Satan, they choose to believe that all creation eagerly awaits the time when the “true sons” of God will finally become aware of “who they are in Christ,” conquerors and overcomers, and will then come into their true Glory and Power as the Sons of God. They believe they will be the ones who will remove the curse, and overcome all of God’s enemies, even death! The historic church has been waiting for God the Son in the second coming. The Manifested Sons of God teach that God is waiting for you and I.
Earl Paulk, a well known “Kingdom Now” proponent, explains his application of Romans 8:19 “The last enemy to be conquered is death. Who will conquer it? A mature Church will come forth with the kind of authority and power that will be able to stand in the very face of Satan. When the Church reaches that level of maturity, God will be able to say, ‘This generation of the Church does not need to die. She has reached a place of maturity. I will translate her because her maturity pleases Me.’”
It is impossible, however, for us to begin to understand why God should choose to do this, as it plays no part in his prophecy in His Holy Word.
“Not only will they not have diseases, they will also not die. They will have the kind of imperishable bodies that are talked about in the 15th chapter of Corinthians … this army is invincible. If you have intimacy with God, they can’t kill you.” ( Paul Cain, “Joel’s Army,” )
Jack Deere says, ” they won’t be able to kill this army.” John Wimber has also said, “those in this army will have the ‘kind of anointing …his kind of power … anyone who wants to harm them must die.
Bill Hamon writes, “The Church will gain victory over the last enemy, death. Victory speaks of a battle being fought. The last day saints will wage and win a warfare against death. The last generation saints will come to translating faith in preparation for participation in the translation.” (The Eternal Church)
“Yes, sin, sickness and disease, spiritual death, poverty, and everything else that’s of the devil once ruled us. But now, bless God, we rule them — for this is the Day of Dominion!” (Kenneth Hagin, “Rejoice! This Is the Day Which the Lord Hath Made!” The Word of Faith, Sept. 1996)
“When the Sons of God are manifested. “The saints will take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever… the Sons of Yahweh, one like the Son of man – not the lonely and blessed Yahshua of Nazareth alone, but the complete body of sons – Yahweh’s masterpiece of the ages, the body of Yahshua, the house not made with hands – My Father’s house of many mansions, each one whether individually or collectively ‘An habitation of Yahweh through the Spirit”…these sons of Yahweh are indeed the ‘One like the Son of man.”‘ (George Hawtin, New Beginnins)
Speaking on the feasts (Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles) “…. typify the whole Church Age, beginning with the death of Jesus on the cross, and consummating in “the manifestation of the Sons of God”-the “overcomers” who will become perfected and step into immortality in order to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. (George Warnock, The Feast of Tabernacles,
So from the saints inheriting the kingdom when Christ comes and being servants (co-heirs) in His kingdom, who are adopted as sons (Rev.20:6), the Manifest Sons of God (MSOG) have completely departed. Their’s is not a kingdom operated by humility but one of temporal power and force. These are organizations and individuals who emphasize “take it by force” teachings, and the pulling down of strongholds, who ignore what Jesus and his apostles taught because they would rather believe that this is what God is doing now. As they say, “Its new, its fresh!”
However, what they don’t seem to comprehend is that it’s also
Interesting lying spirit that Branham listened to about Marilyn Monroe’s death.
Billy Graham actually DID have a vision about MM’s death and DID contact Debbie Reynolds a few days before her death.
Reynolds sent her former MGM hairdresser, who knew MM, to MM’s house the day she died because Billy Graham called her about his vision.
I’ve done a lot of research on this topic and, Branham, like most false prophets, they never seem to hear a word that might actually do something for a person in jeopardy.
Graham was told by the Lord that MM was going to die and it was not her time.
MM died of an OVERDOSE by an barbituate laced enema that interacted with other drugs in her system. Personally, I believe that she WAS told about what Billy Graham said by this hairdresser and freaked out, and the woman who was living with her was a psychiatric nurse who gave her the enema to calm her down.
Peter Lawford was there that night. Before he died, he told his girlfriend that MM died from an enema.
I know a bit about this story, I should type it up and write it out.
William Branham was a LIAR infected with a LYING SPIRIT. Graham was heartbroken about MM’s death because he tried to do something about it beforehand. He and other Christians in Hollywood rallied in prayer meetings after this time. Sad but true story. Debbie Reynolds was attending Bel Air Presbyterian at the time, I believe.
Anyone who gives Branham ANY credence is listening to that same LYING SPIRIT.
Hi AriseMyLove,
All this about MM is news to me. Very interesting.
Yes, please do. I hope that you will share it here.
Thanks
swarna
Oh, i don’t give Branham any creedence, but he could have been saved. But i would certainly give him more creedance than i would you or Rosalind. At least Branham had enough character to use his real name.
Dear Ian:
I wasn’t specifying you, Ian, in saying things about William Branham. Branham inspired the entire IHOP/Kansas City Lakeland liars.
How about I answer your question as to the Biblical efficacy of being anonymous on the internet with this question:
Why did Jesus obfuscate about going into Jerusalem to his brothers?
Obviously the Lord did not lie. But He did not feel it necessary to inform his brothers of everything He was doing. There is a scripture about not asking the King what he is doing or why in Proverbs, I think. I think this Proverb probably answers the reason the Lord did not sin when He did not think it necessary to tell His brothers when/why/where/how He was going to Jerusalem. It’s an interesting problem. But it remains that the Lord somehow did not feel it necessary to bare all details to His brothers. Timing is in the Lord’s hands and reminds me of all the stories about Christians hiding from the communists in the former USSR/E Germany — without lying or sinning per se about their true identities.
Email me Ian, as i read your thought article on this topic but am not quite convinced that there is sin involved with internet anonynimity. Please divorce me from Miriam Franklin’s internet issues… that is quite a different problem that i pray she will figure out.
Meanwhile, Billy Graham did have a vision of MM dying in late July 1962 and did try to do something about it. Branham is a weird liar of the Enemy and my ire at him has more to do with his false teachings that inspired Lakeland and the potential loss of salvation of my loved ones in the Apostolic Prophetic cult who have fallen under the Strong Delusion because of Branham’s lies.
If Branham repented before he died in that car accident, I’ll agree with you, he could be saved. But you do know that Che Ahn “anointed” Todd Bentley with “William Branham’s mantle” last year at Lakeland?
And even Derek Prince said to “beware anyone who claims William Branham’s anointing?”
I love Miriam Franklin, btw, because of her website and all that I learned about the Lord there. Her own issues are terrible and I need to keep praying for her. We can only fight the spirit of false prophecy, i.e. Jezebel in a position of personal penance (because Christ calls Jezebel to repent). And I know that is the victory you want for Miriam, i.e Roslaind, Ian. As do I. Bless you bro.
Thanks AML for your explanation.
Just a few points:
a) It’s irrelevant to Branham himself what people claim about having or giving his ‘anointing’ or ‘mantle’ as the guy is dead and has nothing to do with it.
b) Out of the famous pentecostals who claim to have the ‘mantle’ of Branham, NONE of them believe or follow his teachings, in fact, just the opposite. It’s the POWER which attracts people to Branham, not his teachings. E.g. Branham taught that every denomination is of the devil, and if a woman cuts her hair and wears shorts she is backslidden or not a true believer. So much other stuff. Paul Cain, Joyner, Bentley, NONE of these people have anything in common with Branham or the Branhamites.
c) Some of the critiques of branham (like sandy simpson) are way too unbalanced, e.g. claiming he preached that the Zodiac is the gospel etc.. I think he mentioned that God is revealed in the stars and pyramids about one or two times over 40 years, the rest of the time he preached Jesus is the only way.
My apology to AML, i have no right to judge you for hiding your identity. That’s not what i meant to say.
What i judge is your statement::
“Anyone who gives Branham ANY credence is listening to that same LYING SPIRIT.”
This is manipulation/witchcraft. Unless a person submits to your opinion about Branham then they are listening to a lying spirit?? So, what does “giving ANY creedence” mean??
You are right, that comment was a bit over the top. I suppose I meant that anyone who gives Branham any credence without examining his teachings and the counterfeit spirit animating his “prophecies” is in danger of being infected/coming under that same counterfeit spirit… like a lot of people I know.
I’m not an authority on Billy Graham, but I think he was rightfully hearing the Lord regarding MM’s impending death. He certainly did not cry wolf after the fact as did Branham: and exactly what he heard the Lord tell him came true: she died before her time.
As for Masonry, I actually believe that Branham was listening to the same demon of Masonry and Mormonism. He did not put the spirits to the test of scripture. One of his former associates wrote about the horror of his failed healings and the strange “angel” Branham listened to without allowing the people he laid hands on know what he was praying to. Miriam actually posted an article by this man on her site about this apostasy.
Post the sermon of his or a link to it — the one you liked. I took apart one of his sermons a while ago, almost funny how Branham mangled the Word and preached something entirely different than was indicated by the text — in that “backwoods” and “down home” (read illiterate and ignorant) manner of his. he had a demonic habit of injecting a single word here or there that alters entirely the meaning of the Scripture verse. (And I’ve seen his modern day adherents do the same thing… and I believe it is the same demon causing them to do this.)
Didn’t Branham claim to be Elijah or some other such nonsense? And something about the Pyramids and the end of the world by the seventies?
Appalling that he has any sway with any one. I see no redeeming value there at all, except to study up on what not to do as a charismatic, and even then, it seems like a waste of time and energy.
I took apart his friend Bill Hamon’s theology and was nearly leveled by the extent of his deception, lies and how the Lord allowed Satan free rein to lie to Hamon, and delude Hamon into believing he was a “Christian”: some of Hamon’s prophecies even indicated how the Lord used Hamon’s ignorance of the Word to further delude this man, and thereby delude the entire generation of Lakeland GodTV we see now. I believe that spirit is the same spirit that lied to Joseph Smith. In fact, one of the lesser bits of info I garnered was that Joseph Smith prophesied that the Second Coming of Christ would be in Independence Missouri (this was in 1831, before the Mormon wars kicked the Mormons out of Missouri) — Smith prophesied in that same demon that Jesus would return to earth at INdependence Missouri. Guess what city Independence Missouri is the “historical heart” of? You guessed it.
Kansas City Missouri, where Bob Jones first was contacted by the demon Emma. Kansas City prophets rose out of there, as has IHOP, and the rest of the Apostolic Prophetic Cult. The Lakelanders are spiritual Mormons: they believe in untested prophetic words over the Word and God sent on them strong delusion. Mormons are and always have been dominionists as are the Kansas City Prophets and this is a terrible terrible blight on christians who do not do their homework. They ultimately believe they can kill you for not believing in their brand of Christ, and have preached such. Branham’s obsession with OT prophets was a loss leader into this mindset.
Both Branham and Hamon do what the Mormons did, plain as day, in the book of Mormon. The do not distinguish the tangible spiritual differences between living under the spiritual aegis of the Old Covenant and the New. Think about it. The Book of Mormon, while pretending to be a history of the lost tribes of Judah, is the same mishmash before and after the Old Covenant was torn open as the curtain was rent when Christ died on the Cross and the New Covenant took effect. This travesty of misinterpretation and misunderstanding leads many Christians into Dominionism — that the weapons of their warfare ARE carnal.
Sorry to get so off into this stuff. Show me what you liked about Branham so I understand your pov, Ian.
Interesting you mention Graham in the context of Branham.
Billy Graham’s closest associates and friends are 33 degree masons. To get that high in masonry you really need to be virtually demon possessed. Billy does not have the character to tell them the truth.
With Branham, such a thing would have been unthinkable, he hated such hypocrisy.
You know, all the people who cite Branham, like Cain, Joyner, Bentley… , Branham detested such people. Quite ironic eh.
Branham’s life is a serious warning to all about what NOT to do. He didn’t fall into adultery or greed or anything like that, he got decieved by supernatural power, and not taking heed to the commands of the Apostles. If he had had a mind like the early Apostles, worked as they did, he would not have fallen, and then been taken out in judgment. Btw, you can be taken out in judgment and still be saved, but its not recommended anyone try it out.
DENIAL FROM BILLY GRAHAM EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION THAT MR. GRAHAM IS A FREEMASON!!!
http://www.cephasministry.com/n1099.html
Here’s a related issue:
We can and should judge a Christian’s fruit – know them by their fruits, and even separate from them if they fall into the category where scripture calls us to separate.
BUT to pronounce they are not saved, were never saved, or lost their salvation …. we should not be hasty to make THAT judgment.
With Branham, his critics see him as totally of the devil, without any redeeming graces.
I wouldn’t have anything to do with Branham if he was alive, other than to warn him if i could. But i don’t feel inclined to pronouce an ultimate verdict over his salvation.
Indeed, MUCH of his message is good. Much is bad also.
I was remembering the first sermon he ever gave, he was invited, on the spot, at a pentecostal convention, to take the pulpit. He got up, not knowing what to say, and he opened his Bible and the first verse he saw was “the rich man opened his eyes in hell”. So he started talking, The rich man opened his eyes in hell and he didnt see any flowers, he didn’t see the blue sky, he didn’t see any love etc… and apparently the message had a profound affect on many there.
I also heard a message of his on ‘Blind Bartimeaus’ – it just broke me down at the time, melted my heart.
Thanks Ian.
yes Swarna.
I have an aversion to mumbo jumbo, especially religious mumbo jumbo.
According to 1 Cor. 14, if i was in that meeting i may have interrupted Branham and asked him to spell out exactly what he meant. Amazing that no one did that, all under a spell.
“Excuse me Bill, it sounds like you are saying that you are Jesus, is that right?”
Thanks Ian.

E-38 And I–and I started moving my hands around like this and walking around, and Something said, “Say what you will, and it shall be given to you.”
I waited and listened; I thought, “Was that… Where You at, Sir?”
And I heard it again, “Ask what you will, and it shall be given unto you. I’m confirming the things that I will do.”
And I said, “But what should I…” I thought, “Who am I talking to?” I–I felt like I’d lost my mind. I thought, “Who am I talking to? I don’t see a person. Where’s that Light at? It usually is the One talk to. There’s no Light here. Who are You? Where–what do You want?”
I thought Something said, “Ask what you will.” That’s right. I was thinking of that Scripture: Mark 11:23, “Ask what you will.” I thought, “Well, what would I ask? There’s no sick people here, what could I do?” I thought, “There’s nothing out–maybe, am I beside myself?” I said, “What would I ask for?”
And Something, just as plain as you hear my voice saying, “Aren’t you hunting? And you have no game?”
I said, “That’s right.” I thought, “Is this… Lord,” I said, “if I’m–if I’m doing anything wrong, You forgive me.” Now, isn’t that awful? If you’re doing anything wrong. I said, “Lord, if I’m doing anything wrong, forgive me. But is this You? Is this the Scripture that You’re trying to get to me? Is this that other step that we’re coming up to? You give me a vision and said it be confirmed in a little building somewhere in a meeting when the tents get started.” I said, “Is this what it’s leading to? If it is, Lord, then I’ll take You by Your Word.”
SPEAK.TO.THIS.MOUNTAIN_ SAN.JOSE.CA MONDAY_ 59-1123
E-39 I looked around, I thought, “I’ll find something impossible.” And I found that old locust thicket; I said… I usually set my sights in for fifty yards. I… The Lord… I’m not a shot, but I–I–if my gun won’t drive a tack at fifty yards, it’s out. So then, I was… I shoot squirrels, never shoot one with his back turned, or head turned; I got to see him just right and shoot him in the eye with a .22 rifle. Now, if it don’t, let him go. So then…
And I said, “There’s fifty yards,” about the distance across this building; I said, “And there shall come a young red squirrel and set on that old naked limb out yonder and I’ll shoot him from right here.” And there come the squirrel. I turned the gun, aimed up, through the little telescope sight I seen it’s eye, shot it, dropped down. I walked over to look at it; I thought, “It’s bleeding; a vision don’t bleed.” And I–I looked at it, picked the squirrel up, felt it; it was a real squirrel. I got real scared. And I thought, “Well, you know, it just happened, that’s all; it just happened like that.”

229 That is solemn warning. We don’t know what time, and you don’t know what time, that this city one day is going to be laying out here in the bottom of this ocean.
230 “Oh, Capernaum,” said Jesus, “thou who exalted into heaven, will be brought down into hell. For, if the mighty works had been done in Sodom and Gomorrah, it’d have been standing to this day.” And Sodom, Gomorrah lays in the bottom of the Dead Sea. And Capernaum is in the bottom of the sea.
231 Thou city, who claims to be the city of the Angels, who has exalted yourself into heaven, and sent all the dirty, filthy things of fashions and things, till even the foreign countries come here to pick up our filth and send it away, to your fine churches and steeples, and so forth, the way you do. Remember, one day you’ll be laying in the bottom of the sea, your great honeycomb under you right now. The wrath of God is belching right beneath you. How much longer He will hold this sandbar hanging out over that? When, that ocean out yonder, a mile deep, will slide in there, plumb back to the Salton Sea. It’ll be worse than the last day of Pompeii. Repent, Los Angeles.
232 Repent, the rest of you, and turn to God. The hour of His wrath is upon the earth. Flee while there’s time to flee, and come into Christ.

144 And as Jesus cried, “Blind Pharisees,” the Holy Spirit in my own heart tonight cries, “Blind Laodicea! How oft God would have give you a revival! But now your time has come; it’s too late now. How did you laugh and make fun of the people that God sent to you! But now your time has come. Oh, United States, United States, how that God would have hovered you as a–a hen does its brood, but you would not.” Now this Voice is going from coast to coast, from north to south, and east to west. How God would have hovered you, but you would not! Now your time has come.
145 Nations are breaking. The world is falling apart. Fifteen-hundred-mile chunk of it, three- or four-hundred-miles wide, will sink, hundred… or maybe forty miles down into that great fault out yonder, one of these days, and waves will shoot plumb out to the state of Kentucky. And when it does, it’ll shake the world so hard that everything on top of it will shake down.
146 Oh, hide me in the Rock of ages! God, let me, let me. Breathe upon me, Lord. Spirit of the living God, breathe on me. Let me take God’s Filter and live under That, Lord. Let me breathe the fresh air of the Holy Ghost into my lungs, in my soul each day, that I sin not against You, O Lord. Breathe on me, Holy Spirit, breathe on me! I…

To Ajnak,
The concept of 7 church ages has been aroud for centuries. Harry Ironside did an an exposition on the 7 church ages many years before Branham, and perhaps Branham learned about it from him.
Anyway, we have our Lord Jesus’ message to the Laodicean Church, it’s in every Bible, read in every nation.
Most believers live in China and India and they will never hear about Branham, but the message to Laodicea is in their Bibles.
Do you really believe there is going to come a prophet before Jesus’ returns to prepare the Church for Him?
What type of gospel would that be, where salvation was connected to accepting a certain prophet as of God?

Amen Swarna.
I posted this on my blog:
As money is the authority in the world, so is raw supernatural power the currency for much of christendom. An ‘in your face’ miracle trumps truth in these times. Money is also a principle authority in christendom, but miracles trump it. In the world, money answers all things, is the last word; whereas, in the church it is miracle power which is the last word.
That’s why so many identify with William Branham, even those whom Branham would have detested if he had met them, like Todd Bentley. Branham went ballistic even if a woman would have a haircut. What would he say about Todd’s tattoos? Yet Bentley claims to carry Branham’s mantle. They overlook his rants against worldliness and denominations and just hang onto the miracles. Whatever false things he taught, these are eclipsed by the miracles. Which is a sign of things to come.
I’ve been thinking lately why God withholds great miracle power these days, in general. There are sincere saints who could walk in signs and wonders, but perhaps God knows that it would destroy them, they just wouldn’t be able to cope with the pressures and popularity that would follow. People just aren’t equipped to handle such things, it often leads to ruin, both of the preacher and his audience/followers.
Worthiness: even to be allowed to suffer for Jesus’ name we have to be found worthy first. If we are found worthy of His name then we are given the honor of suffering for His name. The same principle also applies to many Kingdom things; many are just not worthy of it.
Yes, everything God does; every expression of His power and saving grace, is a miracle, in one sense, but Biblically, supernatural miracles are signs and wonders which accompany the preaching of the gospel.
Salvation is THE GREAT miracle. True miraculous power, as manifestations of God’s mercy, not a show, not entertainment, should lead to the great miracle of salvation. God is still the miracle working God. There will also be great lying signs and wonders in the last days.
Hi Ian,
Thank you for sharing this.
You mention miracles…………..
For sometime now, I’ve been remembering the miracles I have seen in the last 20 years. No gold dust or feathers!
They may not seem so dramatic to those who are hooked on the ’spectacular’, or may seem as nothing to some others, but as I remember them, I know they were miracles to me………..and I am filled with joy, PRAISING GOD.
Thanks Ian.

Hi Ian,

Kevin,
I used to be of the same opinion as you, then i realized that Branham did, in his latter years, actively encourage and build a personality cult around himself, and he did claim to be Elijah, and the Seventh Angel of Revelation, the final prophet of the church age.
Why do Branhamites believe these things? Bcos Branham told them.
Yet there were many good things about Branham’s life, which glorify Jesus Christ : his humility, his very simple gospel message.
My ‘take’ on Branham: There were some good aspects to his ministry and message, but overall it would be very unwise to hold him up as an example due to the errors he fell into which ultimately led to his death, taken out in judgment, i believe.
You should really be careful of who you speak as being evil or of the devil . William Branham is not responsible for any of the cult following he has and he had one of the true anountings of the gifts of the Spirit that I have ever seen. You should really speak to a man named T.L. Osborn before you form a negative opinion.

I am not a ‘Branhamite’ or whatever the cult that follow Branham is called. But I have read not less than 50 of his transcribed sermons.
His ‘message’ was fully consistent with the Bible. But the modern ‘Christians’ who want to cut corners may not agree with Branham. He preached Christ so well, and made no personal fortune out of the gifts of Holy Spirit like it happens today.
In some of his sermons, he recounts how he was told by a voice that he is the angel of the Laodicean church. The way the church is described in the bible is a true reflection of today church.
I fully believe in his message, and particularly his explanation of Holy Spirit and the Godhead. But I repeat – his message is not for the lighthearted Christian, neither for the cult followers.
What will happen if we find out at the judgement day that he was indeed the forerunner of Jesus Second Coming like alluded in Malachi? I choose to believe his message.
